I like turning ideas into useful software, exploring how things work, and learning something new along the way.
Hi! I'm Floris. I've always enjoyed figuring out how things work and then trying to build them myself. That curiosity led me from making games to developing software and designing cloud systems. These days, I work as a Product Owner at Dynatos, where I get to stay close to both the people using a product and the technology behind it.
I have an MSc in Game and Media Technology and a BSc in Game Technology, both in computer science. Along the way, I've worked with Azure, .NET (C#), Unity, and full-stack development, as well as C++, Python, Kotlin, HTML, CSS, SQL, and PHP. I don't consider the list the interesting part though, what keeps me hooked is having a new problem to understand and an idea to experiment with.
Most of my work tends to involve some combination of:
I enjoy projects where I can move between the bigger picture and the details: talking through an idea, sketching out an architecture, and then opening the editor to see whether it actually works.
This portfolio is a collection of things I've built in my spare time. Some became complete projects, while others were experiments that taught me something useful. Have a look.
If you'd like to talk about one of these projects, swap ideas, or just chat about tech, feel free to get in touch.
